now that the national moot court competition is over, i want to thank and express my gratitude to the following persons:

- Lars & G - the so-called "DRAGON LADIES" and "GIANT KILLERS" hahaha, you both did great during the competition, however, the forensic's guild opportunity to argue before supreme court justices will have to wait till next year (di ba G? hehehe).. nevertheless, a huge huge huge THANKS to both of you

- Hazel - tunay na maaasahan, you sticked with the guild from the day we started preparing the memorials till the very last day of the competition. i know that you really wanted to compete and i apologize for letting you down (after all, i'm a useless prime minister hehehe), but next year, your opportunity will come

- Dean - your contributions were truly indispensable and you played a big part for the success of the team. remember your promise hahaha

- Ole - i know you're on a leave of absence from school, but thanks for the help

- Bigx and Welski tag team - thanks for sticking with me during the first day of the competition. i know i demanded a lot from the two of you but thanks for understanding

- Joana - malakas nga talaga ako sayo hahaha, i enjoyed your funny comments on some of the mooters hehehe

since my short "vacation" is coming to an end in few hours, it's time for me to reflect on what i did & what took place during that period.

i watched:

1. the godfather trilogy - could have been the best trilogy of all time, were it not for sophia coppola's acting in part III of the trilogy, but generally the story on michael corleone's rise to power was told in a good way. a quote i remember from the trilogy "i know it was you fredo, you broke my heart, you broke my heart" -michael corleone to his brother fredo in part II.

2. star wars episode I-VI - time to revive my nerdy & geeky alter-ego... this was one heck of a lengthy movie marathon, now try to imagine me watching 6 movies, with each one of them having a running time of at least 2hrs... sheeeeesh i probably won't do that again. anyways, i just realized that although the story of the star wars series was good, the acting sucked and SUCKED REAL GOOD, notwithstanding that some of today's accomplished actors and actresses were involved in the movie. (oh by the way, i think that a young harrison ford looks like steve martin hehehehe..)

3. friday night lights (the movie) - another nice movie about a high school american football team. it portrayed the life of teenagers who are idolized by the whole town, and for these teenagers and their coach to keep up with too many expectations.. (lid's verdict: three thumbs up!!! yes people i'm an alien born with three thumbs hahahaha)

4. napoleon dynamite - one of the weirdest movies i ever watched, but it was so weird that it was actually very good.. quote i remember from the movie - "vote for pedro, vote for pedro"

5. samurai champloo - this is an anime series, it has a good story which is unique in it's own way and the fighting scenes were also good. plus the animation was done in a nice way.

music albums i listened to:

1. infinity on a high by fall out boy - good album, nice songs from an emo band.

2. don't fake it by the red jumpsuit apparatus - now this band has a weird name but they came up with a good debut album, way to go.

3. all albums by explosions in the sky - i didn't think for a second that an instrumental rock band could ever exist, but they proved me wrong, more so when they were able to come up with 4 albums.. they rock!!!

books i read:

actually nothing as in nothing hehehe, aside of course from few time magazine & news articles from the internet but other than that i didn't open any books during this short vacation.

for this blog:

1. i changed the banner of my blog, it features homer co'z i got tired from watching stewie smoking hehehe

2. i added a tiger pet (named tiger lid), just to show the world how pathetic i become...

3. i added a blogger and firefox buttons (firefox is much better and secure than internet explorer.... i know i'm very very bad in endorsing products hehehehe)

also wasted the majority of my precious golden time:

1. chatting with friends

2. sleeping (now what's a vacation without sleeping hehehehe)

due to lack of time (well, i spent majority of the time sleeping and chatting) i wasn't able to:

1. watch the harry potter series

2. watch band of brothers series for the nth time (oh well i still don't get bored watching it)

3. read any good books

4. change the layout of this trashy blog

5. watch samurai 7 co'z i just discovered that the files i downloaded were corrupt buhuhuhuhu

the results

3. if i could get a job which lets me travel to different cities around the world at least once a month

4. if i could have a photographic memory, oh that would be great for my law studies

6. if i could become one of the stockholders of google.com (hey they earn a lot every year)

7. if i could gain some weight, at least 20lbs (i'm a malnourished person after all)

I'M DONE with my final exams for this semester.. an examination period that started on a high sweet note and unfortunately ended on a low and sour note, i admit i didn't study that much i slacked off from the start of the sem til the end of it.. i didn't read that much and when i read i couldn't understand a word (guess i'm an illiterate after all), i crammed, being Late For Class became my middle name (hahaha now that's what i call a middle name), my absences were so frequent for no apparent reasons other than i just want to be absent.. this is by far the worst semester during my stay in law school, and who's to blame but me buhuhuhuhuh. MAN THIS SUCKS!!!

I'M READY to face the consequences of my slackness, ready to accept the INCONVENIENT TRUTH (yes Mr. Al Gore i just borrowed the title of your documentary on global warming, so whatcha gonna do?? hahaha) of possibly failing 1-2 subjects this sem, i'm mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically (wtf???) ready to handle it, and hopefully the failure will propel (what am i? a machine?) and motivate me to do better next time and make me strive to make up for all my shortcomings this school year... i know i should

I'M THINKING of not enrolling this summer class, i dunno i think i need a break, a two months break away from law books, cases and law school environment.. heck, i even thought of quitting law school once and for all (hey even marco antonio barrera was a law school drop out, and now he's a one rich boxer, then maybe i should follow his footsteps too hehe), but that would be contrary to my "always finish what you've started" attitude (yeah right!! look who's talking), so there's nothing to worry about i'm not quitting law school yet, not yet...

ahhhhhhhhhhh my very first entry this 2007, an entry that was 3 months in the making (wow i've been an inactive blogger for that long??!!) hehehehe.. on to my random thoughts:

1. the election period - perhaps the most (dis)interesting period that hits the country every three years.. so let's expect tons of false promises, fake smiles and a lot of posters/political ads w/ stupid punchlines i.e. the poster that bears the words "WALKING TOL" what the F*CK??? i still don't get it, do you?

2. "tears answer your calls like a train"--- this is the most nonsense quote that i can still remember from a dream i had last week, now i don't know what the heck it means but since it's pure gibberish i thought of posting it here... P.S. if anyone can decipher the meaning just inform me hehehe

3. the new unlimited text scheme of globe or unlitxt - people of globe telecom please revert to the old scheme, after all you had revenues of 11.4 BILLION PESOS for 2006 (data subject for verification hehehe), and i believe a portion of that was the result of your old unlimitxt promo (which you have previously advertised as being permanent) LIARS grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

4. the philippine premier of SPIDER-MAN 3 - May 2, 2007 it's gonna hit a movie theater near you, so remember the date people =)

5. manny pacquiao for congress???? - what the F*CK?? man please you belong to the boxing ring and not the silber screen, commircials or the congriss ----> no pun intended

6. as tall as lions, hit the lights, explosions in the sky, the red jumpsuit apparatus, bedlight for blue eyes - some of the bands/artists i've been listening to lately. they might not be that famous or even known in this country but they surely rock

7. the NFL (american football) - it became my second favorite sport after soccer, im having a lot of fun watching it especially when the indianapolis colts are playing (GO COLTS!!!!)

8. tom & jerry - im still watching them (the classic cartoons not the new ones) and damn they're still funny (anyone out there kind enough to buy me the dvd boxset?) hehehe

9. im back (it's my 3rd comeback i think hehehe)

oh yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, i'm finished with the final exams but i don't think that i've ended the 1st sem with a positive note, after all i think that i may i fail most of my subject.... oh well, that's life in law school you pass some and you fail some (or perhaps all) hehehehe!!!

since my 1st sem ended on a not-so-positive note, i was hoping to start my sem break with something good....... unfortunately, that wasn't the case, i was watching the soccer match of my team "FC Barcelona" against Chelsea, which they lost... nevertheless, it wasn't a crucial game so they still have a great chance to advance to the next round.

anyways, got to sleep now it's already 5:15 in the morning!

not another nonsense, stupid, gibberish random thoughts.....

1. world cup 2006 fever - how i wish i have subscribed to the solar pay-per-view offer in order to watch those games, unfortunately such subscription and its high fee would be thrown into waste coz surprise, surprise we have classes again (man i miss those days in syria where summer vacation would just be starting in june and lasts til august, damn it)..... anyways im a spanish football fan and obviously i would like to see spain winning the world cup finals and lift the trophy on the 9th of july 2006 (fingers crossed). so to PUYOL, XAVI, INIESTA, FABREGAS and co. "Si, si, si, nos vamos a Berlin (Yes, yes, yes, we're going to Berlin)" you can do it....

2. my dad and his career choice - if only dad decided to pursue medicine maybe, just maybe, we wouldn't be living in this political mess (yes, my dad's a politician, grrrrr), if only one of us (preferably me) can go back to the 1960's (now where is a time-machine when we desperately need one) and convince dad to get into medical school after finishing his pre-med rather than get into politics, then i would happily do it.

3. travel guide tv programs hosts- ahhhhhh perhaps one of my dream jobs, go to different places, meet new people, eat some new food, experience a whole new environment and the best thing is that you get paid for it, all you have to do is research a thing or two about that place/country, talk in front of a camera and voila that's it.

4. my class schedule - damn it daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn it, two of my subjects are handled by a professor whom i've hoped i would never ever encounter during my stay in law school, the only solution is --------> "a green dropping form"

5. fraternities - i'm being recruited again, and for sure my answer would still be the same: NOPE, sorry can't join... i have nothing against fraternities, as a matter of fact i respect them and i have many good friends who are members of such societies, but i really can't see myself as a good addition to any fraternity group, why? i know myself very well, and i don't like to handle responsibilities and obligations of a brod, i may help other people but i like to do it because i want to do it and not because it's an obligation imposed upon me... i guess if i would be recruited again then i should ask them this question: "convince me that i would be a good addition to the fraternity" (yabang noh??? kala mo kung sino hehehe, kaya nga hindi ako pwede sumali jan kasi mataas ung pride ko hahaha)

7. rumors rumors - how many girls i have been linked to during my 1 year stay in AUSL, hmmmm let me count 1,2,3,4......well too bad for you rumor-makers, none of them are true hahaha (hi supposed girlfriend, you know who you are hahaha)

6. negotiable instrument class - it's 2:20 a.m., i have a class at 9:30, i haven't study and i'm writing this piece of sh*t hahaha...

- increase in the numbers of fast food delivery, e.g. pizza hut, mcdo, etc., means that fewer mothers may be cooking for their kids

- fewer mothers cooking for their kids means that some of those mothers are working moms

- working moms means less quality time with their kids

- less quality time with kids may eventually lead to rebellious kids

who's to blame here? corporations & companies which are increasing the prices of their products and services especially those companies which offer basic needs, which in turn forces both parents to work.

i know this is nonsense but who cares, coz that's lid's conspiracy theory....

May 17, 2006
8:30 am: went to NAIA along with my 2 brothers
9:00 am: arrived in NAIA, checked-in our tickets, and while waiting for our flight i listened to some music and made fun of my lil bro hehehe
10:20 am: we got in the plane bound for cotabato, saw a cute chick sitting in the chair in front of me :), and listened to captain's voice giving out safety instruction and other stuff
11:55 am: arrived in awang airport, cotabato city. jumped out (not literally) of the plane
12:15 am: arrived home, took my lunch and got a short rest
01:30 pm: got my hair cut
03:00 pm: texted my friends in cotabato informing them of my arrival and planning and simple get together dinner
06:00 pm: met with jay, sherhan, hanan, fam and dens (the last two were late) at aling precy, had a nice chat full of jokes and laughters
08:00 pm: wrapped-up the meeting, went home and had a chat with pah barek
09:00 pm: received some advance happy birthday text greetings from a couple of friends, and received an unexpected text from "someone"-----> confidential matters, hahaha

May 18, 2006
02:00 am: had to stay awake to watch the UEFA champions league finals between barcelona (woooohooo) and arsenal
04:45 am: barcelona won the game 2-1 and i was jumping all over the place (not quite literally)
05:00 am: badly needed some sleep
09:00 am: woke up and had to prepare for celia's wedding (i wore a barong and i hope that i won't have to wear another one for a long time to come)
10:30 am: arrived in estosan garden hotel for the wedding reception
01:30 pm: got out of estosan and went home
02:00 pm: took a long afternoon nap
06:00 pm: woke up and prepared myself for another dinner with the cotabato barkada
07:00 pm: met with same barkada (minus hanan who was reading a script for her next movie) at antonio grill and had another chat full of jokes and laughters
09:00 pm: while on the way home we met major red "pain" mojares who treated us for a light meal at ching-la
10:00 pm: arrived home safely and surfed the net at pah barek's house
12:30 am: sleep

07:30 am: woke up, had a light breakfast and watched tv
10:00 am: arranged my stuff, prepared myself for my flight back to manila
11:20 am: arrived at awang airport, checked-in, and waited for the flight, however
01:00 pm: bad news, "due to some technical problems or more appropriately a 'F*CKED UP PHILIPPINE AIRLINE BOEING 737 PLANE' the flight was cancelled and i had to rebook my ticket for tomorrow's afternoon flight (it seemed that i would be absent for LTD's class tomorrow) until...
02:20 pm: change of plans, went with dad to davao and hoped that i would be able to catch a dava0-manila trip tomorrow morning
08:00 pm: arrived in davao city and we went to marco polo hotel to attend dad's meeting
11:00 pm: checked-in w/ dad & his company at mandaya royal hotel and slept

04:30 am: woke up, prepared myself and went to the davao international airport, fortunately there was a cebu pacific flight bound for manila at 06:35 am, even more fortunately there were still some seats available, huh thanks
07:00 am: unfortunately, the plane was delayed for few minutes, nevertheless it seemed that i would still be able to attend the LTD class
08:45 am: arrived at manila domestic airport and upon being fetched by our driver, i went straight to school
09:30 am: it's back to school although i was late

1. 1984: the year when the world was introduced to someone named Khalid (so?), but no im not thinking about that, actually its 1984 the novel and its very own THOUGHT POLICE (thinkpol in Newspeak) whose duty was to uncover and punish thought crimes (yup, similar to the one in Minority Report).... now if such thing existed i guess that i would be one of the world's most wanted.

2. the security guards of the condominium building: damn it, if you keep on asking which unit i live in, the next time you'll see me, i'll be wearing a shirt airbrushed with the following words:

I live in Unit 1*** tower c
got it, get it, good!!!

3. the da vinci code: so with the plaigarism charge against Dan Brown dismissed by a court in UK, i can't wait to see the movie, along with other summer blockbusters.

4. friends: this year has been a good year for me and friends, i can say that i've known many "good" (open for debate, hehehehe) friends this year and im glad and happy that i've met them (or perhaps just one of them hahahaha, just kidding), i hope they feel the same way or...... maybe not hahahaha.

5. time magazine: after reading the Time special issue of the "world's 100 most influential people", i wondered how can i be one of those 100 people, the easiest way after talking with my sister was............ since i can't be the next bill gates or george clooney or even the next howard stern, then just be a terrorist and/or curse US of America every hour of everyday (thanks to Hugo Chavez and Ayman al-Zawahiri for the inspiration) hahahahaha.

6. dishwalla: im listening to their songs, and they're good.

7. summer: it's too hot and im not enjoying it co'z im taking summer classes (poor little me huhuhuhuhu).

8. birthday: hey, i just told you that i wasn't thinking about it, but anyways it's getting nearer and nearer, it's up for you to know when (this is my answer when my friends ask me about my b-day: "text mo ako ng 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY LID' simula May 1 hanggang May 30, pag nag-thank you na ako, ibig sabihin b-day ko na un)-----> good answer, ain't it? hahahaha.

9. you: yes, im thinking about you and the precious time you've wasted waiting for this blog to load and reading this piece of garbage. ain't i right?

10. pinoy big brother teen edition: damn, f*ck, sh*t, i hate those kind of shows.

- the "I Manila" advertisement that has been popping-up in the Discovery Channel (yes virginia, i do watch that channel) - it should've been re-phrased as Haaaaaaay, Manila

- the blacked eye peas - "negative images always shown by the media" should sumarize all that i want to say

- UK advertisements to help kids fight obesity (read the full article here) - LOL, very creative, what if they broadcast it here (wawa si jollibee at si tito mcdonald's hehehe)

- the pinoy big brother craze - not another reality show, ughhh i'm sick of them

- the royal honeymoon of prince charles and princess camilla - oh well, anything about the UK's royal family is odd right??

- ate glo is still "La Presidenta" and proudly announcing the failures and stupid reports of the military and the PNP - tsk tsk tsk, un lang po!

The Migration (hasta la vista baby!!!)

i'm baaaaaaaaaack (so?) and Happy Eid Al-Fitr Al-Mubarak to the Muslim Ummah!

yes people, i've migrated (not phyically though, hopefully this will happen soon)!!! i changed the O/S of my laptop and i'm officially a member of the Ubuntu linux community, but it ain't "no more gates nor windows for Lid" - or windoze/winbricks as the linux community likes to call it - at least not yet, co'z i still need to figure out how to use linux to the fullest, but i have to admit i'm really impressed with Ubuntu, though i had to spend countless hours to update it and install new free and licensed programs (no pirated stuff here peeps), accordingly it's easy to upgrade, but in my case i had some difficulty since the admin/root password i inputted during the installation process didn't work when i tried to access the >Synaptic Package Manager and >Ubuntu Update Manager, so i had to resort to the tutorial provided in ubuntuguide.org and type/copy-paste those commands in the Terminal, nevertheless it was a worthwhile experience, i felt like i was some freaking hacker or one-heck-of-a programmer while typing those commands hehehe.

so to conclude this post, i'm happy to admit that now Lid is 85% free from windoze (15% will represent the time i would spend using windoze, for gaming that is) "the best things in life are free" truly apply to linux and its constantly growing community..

so "can he possibly support those eight children? apparently he has another wife with obviously some kids too, can he also support them?" i'm not advocating family-planning here, but isn't a mistake on the part of the parents who have many kids and not being able to support them during their childhood.

while i was in SM megamall, i saw a poster for manny pacquiao's movie which is entitled "lisensyadong kamao", well i think that i'm also licensed to say this "ugh, what th f*ck manny, you belong in the boxing ring not the silber screen or commircials----> no pun intended!!

woooohooo finally yeah, I finished the template of my blog (so? not a big deal)... as you see, it's just another awful template or perhaps the worst design ever made by a blogger hehehe, even elementary students could do better than this (sorry!! Guess the creative side of my brain ain't functioning no more, just check out the latest x-ray of my head.)

actually, this is my hmmmmmmmmmm, let me see... nth blog already? but I suppose that I would be maintaining this blog just to let my "idle mind" be useful in some way or another! So I'm warning ya, you'll be reading tons, I repeat tons of gibberish+nonsense stories and misadventures at home, school, along with a li'l dosage of my daily life (yeah right, like I have a life), and perhaps with anything under the sun/under the table??? that may seem interesting (or shall I say disinteresting)

anyways, this is it for today, I'll be digesting few cases after this and beside, got nothing on my mind and in my pocket?? that I'd like to talk about.
